On July 5th, the global presentation of “An Open China: Shaanxi Engaging the World” was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People’s Republic of China. The Japanese ambassador to China enjoyed the Shaanxi Opera.
At the MFA presenting Chinese provinces activities – “An Open China: Shaanxi Engaging the World” held on July 5th, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, the Party Chief and Director of the Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress Lou Qinjian and Governor Hu Heping issued their sincere invitation to the world to come to Shaanxi. Ambassadors to China from the Republic of Korea, France and the United States shared their stories about Shaanxi.
The promotional event at the MFA Blue Hall attracted 219 diplomatists from 134 countries and representatives of international organizations. Kim Jang-soo, Korean ambassador to China first stepped on the podium to tell Shaanxi’s favorable investment environment for Samsung. He greeted all guests in Chinese at the beginning of his speech.

Kim Jang-soo said, since President Park Geun-hye’s visit to Shaanxi in March 2013, Shaanxi has become a base for Korean enterprises to enter West China; mutual investment increased steadily; especially in September 2014, the output value of Xi’an Samsung (China) Semiconductor amounted to 10 billion yuan; in 2015, the business transactions of two countries grew by 35%. The ambassador continued, the rapid development of Korean enterprise in Shaanxi was closely associated with the local favorable investment environment.

Rapid growth of Korean enterprises in Shaanxi is based on positive assistance and business processing provided by Shaanxi Provincial Government. After my visit to Xi’an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone and Samsung electronic plant, I saw the modern Silk Road built by Chinese and Shaanxi governments to foster high–tech industries. Under the leadership of Party Chief Lou and Governor Hu, I hope Shaanxi, as the central zone of the Belt and Road, will attract more foreign enterprises, i.e. the world engaging Shaanxi.”

Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, French ambassador to China has been in Shaanxi for many times. He deemed Shaanxi as one of the most potential and vital regions for development due to its advantageous geographical position and abundant scientific and educational resources. With Xi’an-Paris non-stop flight put into operation, France’s relation with Shaanxi has been further enhanced. Recently, France set up a Visa Application Center in Xi’an for convenience of Xi’an residents’ trip to France.

As a core city along the ancient Silk Road, Xi’an has always been an important city to promote development of Chinese economy, society and culture. Max Baucus, US ambassador to China: Shaanxi is expected to be the preferred destination of investment for US enterprises
Max Baucus, US ambassador to China, said that he first came to Shaanxi when he was in the company of then US president Clinton for a goodwill visit to China, that he was deeply impressed by the ancient city wall and the Terra-Cotta Warriors in Xi’an, and that his wife was riding a bicycle on city wall. According to Baucus, Shaanxi has huge potential for development and he will actively promote Shaanxi and make it the preferred destination for US enterprises’ investment.
