Party Chief Lou Qinjian and Governor Hu Heping Meet with Representatives Attending BFA Strategic Development Seminar & Council Work Conference

On October 9, Shaanxi Provincial Secretary Lou Qinjian and Governor Hu Heping met with Fukuda Yasuo, the President of the Boao Forum for Asia and the former Prime Minister of Japan, Zeng Peiyan, the vice president of BFA and former Vice Premier Minister of the State Council, and other participant representatives attending the BFA Strategic Development Seminar & Council Work Conference.

Lou Qinjian and Hu Heping welcomed the arrival for the group led by Fukuda Yasuo and Zeng Peiyan. Lou said, Shaanxi is an important birthplace for Chinese civilization and Chinese nation, with abundant resources, competitive location, reinforced education, and favorable ecology; and its capital Xi’an has been a portal to the outside world since the ancient time. In recent years, the Chinese government is deepening the strategies of the West Development and the Belt and Road, which raises Shaanxi to the frontier for the westward opening policy, and brings rare opportunities for Shaanxi accessing the world. It is expected that everyone would know more about the province, pay more attention on it and vigorously suggest on economic development, external opening and environmental protection.

Fukuda Yasuo appreciated the developmental achievements by Shaanxi, and said, “Shaanxi plays an important role in the Belt and Road, and the BFA will make full use of its influence to publicize the province.”

Those also attending the meeting include: Zhou Wenzhong, the Secretary General of BFA; Wu Zuodong, the Honorary Senior Minister of Singapore; Mao Chaofeng, a member of Standing Committee and the Executive Vice Governor of Hainan Province; Qian Yin’an, a member of Standing Committee and the Secretary General of Shaanxi Province; Wei Zengjun, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province; Raffarin, the former Premier of France; Shipley, the former Premier of New Zealand; and Surakiart Sathirathai, the former Vice Premier of Thailand.
