Zhengguo Canal Scenic Area

Located in the Guanzhong Plain of Shaanxi and completed in 246 BC, the Zhengguo Canal is the earliest large-scale diversion irrigation project in ancient China and has been inscribed as World's Heritage Irrigation Structure. Zhengguo Canal boasts world’s top tourist destination for its extraordinary canyon landscape and distinctive cultural trait. The Canal locates deeply in Zhongshan Mountain with Jinghe River roaring among chains of mountains to Guanzhong Plain. Zhongshan Mountain, with its highest peak of 1599 m, boasts rolling mountains, deep valleys, grand canyons, exceptional peaks and breathtaking water erosion cliffs.

The Jinghe River with unique hydrologic conditions formed the grotesque stones in the scenic area. They are naturally endowed with as many forms as you can imagine. Some appear to be an imperial jade seal, or look like Chinese dragon scales, and others are like arrow feathers. Of these gorgeous spectacles, the most impressive are Peacock Bay, Dragon Girl Peak and Crocodile Pond. The fairy tales of thousands of years are telling you the local stories. With unique and distinguished landscapes in four seasons, the scenic area perfectly combines mountains, gorges, waters and stones together.
