On the afternoon of January 22, Yao Yinliang, Vice Governor of Shaanxi, met with Dr. Spronk, President of Pinestone, a key enterprise of pig-breeding in the United States, and his party in Xi¡¯an.

According to Yao, in 2009, the economy of Shaanxi developed rapidly, up by 13.6%. And the agriculture also maintained rapid growth momentum, especially in the growing consumption demand and processing enterprises, which made both the number of pigs on hand and the slaughtered reached the historically high. It greatly improved the enthusiasm of farmers who bred pigs and the confidence of pig companies. Yao stated that the Provincial government was confident of the development of the pig industry, and would provide more supports for it so as to accelerate the realization of the goal that the number of the pigs on hand reaches 20 million in 2012. Yao hoped that Pipestone could enhance the exchanges and cooperation with Yangling Besun Agriculture Corporation to promote the development of the pig-breeding industry in Shaanxi, accelerate the realization of Fruit-Livestock Integration, and make great contributions to increasing Shaanxi farmers¡¯ income.

Spronk gave an introduction of the visit of Pipestone in Shaanxi and hoped that both sides could enhance the cooperation in technology and talent and boost the implementation of the cooperation plans.
