On December 28, the Promotion Council for Shaanxi-Thailand Economic and Cultural Exchanges was founded in Xi’an. On the founding conference, chapters of the council was reviewed and approved, directors, standing directors, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council were elected. Dong Lei, former Deputy Secretary of Provincial CPC, was elected to be the Honorary Chairman of the council. And Deng Li, former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Provincial CPC, was elected to be the Chairman of the council. Chavalit, former Prime Minister of Thailand, and Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xi’an sent congratulation messages to the council. Jing Junhai attended the conference and delivered a speech. Surakrai Lekklar, Royal Thai Consul-General in Xi’an also attended the conference. The Council, comprised of relevant walks of life, was a non-profit social organization of Shaanxi province. It aims to promote the development of Shaanxi-Thailand economy, cultural exchanges, and industrial cooperation. In the speech, Jing, on behalf of the Provincial government, expressed congratulations to the founding and the elected leaders of the council. Jing hoped that the council, taking serving its members and the society and working for social harmony as its purpose, would make efforts in information exchange, and project promotion and investment attraction, closely cooperate with Thailand in activities for economic development and cultural exchange, and create a new phase of cooperation in which the two sides can complement their advantages and realize win-win. |
